"The Winner Effect: The Neuroscience of Success and Failure"
Ian Robertson is an internationally known psychologist who has had senior appointments at Columbia, Cambridge, London and Trinity College Dublin Universities and whose popular books Mind Sculpture, Opening the Mind’s Eye, Stay Sharp and The Winner Effect: The Neuroscience of Success and Failure have attracted internationa attention and multiple translations. Until recently based in New York where he was Visiting Professor at Columbia University, he has spoken widely to business and academic meetings throughout the world. Currently Robertson is Professor of Psychology at Trinity College Dublin and Visiting Professor at University College London. He studied at University of Glasgow and the Institute of Psychiatry, University of London, gaining his PhD in neuropsychology from the University of London in 1988.

Prof. Ian Robertson, author of the The Winner Effect: The Neuroscience of Success and Failure, Professor of Psychology in Trinity College, has established a memory research unit where he and his team are finding out how lifestyle factors can influence memory and cognitive function in older people. At the moment they are not able to help people who may already have dementia – their focus is on finding out how they might prevent it in ordinary people. He is looking for potential volunteers.
